
Dr. Michael Lucroy is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, board-certified in veterinary oncology. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 1993. After graduation, Dr. Lucroy completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon. In 1994 he started his medical oncology residency at the prestigious Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at the University of California-Davis. After completing his residency training, Dr. Lucroy was a cancer researcher at the Center for Companion Animal Health, and in 1999 he earned his Master of Science degree in Comparative Pathology from UC Davis. Dr. Lucroy's then became a staff oncologist at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in central Florida before joining the faculty at Oklahoma State University. During his 3 years at OSU, Dr. Lucroy was Associate Professor of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, held the Kerr Chair for Biomedical Laser Applications, and was Director of the Comparative Biophotonics Laboratory. The next 5 years Dr. Lucroy served on the faculty of Purdue University, where he was an Associate Professor of Oncology, a member of the Purdue Cancer Center, and served as Chief of Clinical Oncology in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Lucroy is now in private specialty practice in Indianapolis, IN where he sees dogs and cats with cancer by referral only.
Dr. Lucroy has published more than 100 scientific articles, book chapters, proceedings, and abstracts on various cancer-related topics. He is a national and international speaker on a variety of cancer topics for both veterinarians and the general public. In addition to being a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society, Dr. Lucroy also serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, and is on the Scientific Review Board for the American Journal of Veterinary Research. He also has volunteered as a member of the Scientific Review Committee for the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation for the past 4 years.
